$200 On the Line! The High Stakes Trivia Finale with Yinza

Hey, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of Trivia with Jeff. This is episode

four, the final episode of our first round. We

have a special guest that's been joining us for the whole month of June.

We've got him coming in after the theme song.

Let's go. And welcome back

to the final round. It is Yinza. The.

The fourth week in a row you've made the trip out here. I'll tell you

what, I have grown to love these people like

family over the past month. We've been through so much together,

and it's wonderful to see all of you again. I mean, and what a testament

to your stardom that over the course of the four weeks, you've stayed in contact

with each and every one of these audience members. I went to

go see Boatie McBowface's boat.

We sailed down the Allegheny, up the Monongahela,

and somehow ended on the Ohio. Did you go through the locks and

dams? Yes. Or did you try to jump them? Because at one time I think

he tried to jump the locks and dams. Yeah, but it's, it's. It gets

really complicated with legal stuff and things like that. And

not every boat's a jet ski. That's your. That's kind of like your motto.

Or is it? Every boat is a jet ski.

What? Well, I

do know the audience has been loving playing trivia with

Yinza. Is that true? And I'm

gonna destroy all of you today, and it's gonna be the worst

mistake of your life coming here to PTI Theater. Nobody

should ever come here to. Hey, how about Jeff for having this

month long contest at the Duty Podcast theater?

Yeah, time really flies when you're having fun. And so

if you've been listening to the first three episodes of the podcast, the audience has

been battling against Ginza. It's been brutal at times, and

then Yinza has fought back at times. It's ebbs and flows. And what

the audience is trying to do is to build up a pot so that the

winner of today's game can go to the bin and pull out a

yellow ball and double everybody's prize money. Let's

go over to Paul. He's been guarding

Guardian. Guardian. Guardian. Guardening. Guardian.

He's been the guardian of the orbs. He is the vip. He's the very

important Paul. He is the guardian of the orbs. Paul, how many

balls we got in there? Were we up to 40?

Ish. Was I counting? I forgot the. Yeah, I think

we're in the four. We went. We went through a whole box was 50.

Oh, and then you opened a second box. Right. And I think I took eight

out of that, so. Oh, yeah, we're up to 58 now. So there's a.

There's 200 in there when we start. And the goal was for the audience to

make it 50. 50 chance. And so far, you took out

58 of the black ones and put in 58 of the gold ones.

So when we get through this game tonight, the winner

is going to win a hundred dollars. The second place person is going to win

$50. The third place person is going to win

$25. Now, the winner of the game gets to go up,

stand behind the bin of orbs and pick a ball. If they

pick a gold ball, all three prices

double their prize money. So you can walk away with

$200 tonight in first place.

And by my math, that that gives us a

29% chance. And that's great for me because

that's less money that I have to pay out. So I'm hoping that

you don't. Yinza has been working with you maybe to help

you build up that pot and just been having a good time. We've had

three games of trivia. Oh, what? He's Yinza's dance. He's throwing the hokey poke. I

need a phone for this one. Right. This is the most important one because now

it's not them versus me. It's everybody for themselves. Everyone for

themselves. Everyone. Everybody's eligible for the money. Oh. So I. I could.

I could actually win money. You could walk home with

gas money. Oh. All right,

let's go through the rules. Here's how we play the final

game. Everyone is eligible, and these numbers are a little out of date

because we've. We had a little bit of a. A nice

benefactor give us a little couple extra bucks because they wanted to see tonight

be successful. First place is 100. Second place is 50.

Third place is 25. You're going to have a chance

to double your prize. Whoever wins again is going to go up

there into the VIP section and try to pull a yellow ball to double the

prize money. Are you ready to

start this final round?

Let's go. Now

there's going to be five questions just like the other round, but this one's going

to be a connections game. I'm going to give you four

seemingly unrelated questions, but the answers to

all of them will tie together to be the answer to the

fifth question, or you have to figure out what ties

them together. So somehow not related, but related

sounds confusing. But it's not. You'll figure it out as we go through

it. Is everybody ready? The play for money.

Here we go. Question number one. There's

20,000 points available over 20 questions. The person

with the most amount of points. The luchador with the most amount of points.

The luchador the most amount of points is the best luchador in Pittsburgh.

Here we go. Question number one.

Name the flavor of Ben and Jerry's ice cream that mixes fish

food and chocolate fudge brownie. It's called half

blank. Is it half baked, half mixed,

half melted, half dead.

I think it's Half Dead's a John Cusack movie, isn't it?

Oh, but I thought it was. Hey,

baked 13 of, you know, your Ben and Jerry's

flavors. That was probably the best one too. Half baked. Half

baked. Yeah, that's my go to for sure. Let's look how close it

is. First question. The leader has

988 points. 10th place. Yinza.

Yanza. Yanza.

You forgot your glasses. Yanza. We can fix that in post.

Yeah, as. But there's only 60 points

separating first and tenth place. So that's. How close is

right now, Derek. The fastest. I don't know how. My autocorrect didn't fix

question number two. You think that comes standard? Right

answer quickly. To get more points in Charlie and the

Chocolate Factory, Violet Beauregard turns into

which fruit is it? A plum? A

prune? A blueberry? A pool of mushy

goo like SpaghettiOs? That's Adventures

of Babysitting. That's a blueberry.

Too bad the audience isn't mic'd up right now because we've heard a bunch of

impressions. Yeah, that was really good. And. And is

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Does the same stuff happen? I don't know. Or

is it only in Charlie and Chocolate Factory? I know there's a whole Wonka verse

out there. I thought maybe. Well, we have Derek in the lead.

Magic Mike, Paul, the Reverend Funk, Lindsay,

Mars, Sass, Abby, Rachel and Janza. It's like,

wasn't like Gonzo was one of the Muppets. Was. Didn't they have an

alter ego that was like a stuntman? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Who gone to the great. Or was that. Yeah,

here we go. Super

monster. At the end of the book, 16 players are still in it.

Yonza hasn't scared any of them away. Michael Jordan, Adam

Sandler and Lady Gaga are all from which state?

California, New Jersey, New York or

Vermont.

It's it. This is one of those. That seems too obvious. It

is it. But yet. Is it. But is. Is

New York. Okay. All right. New York is correct.

We have Magic Mike. Oh, look at this, everybody. Maybe it was

too obvious. Yeah, all 10 of our leaderboard. Got it. Well, everybody

knows Michael Jackson for his thick New York accent. And let's

not. Let's not take away from the fact Janza climbing the board

up into sixth place. I'm coming for that money.

You just been saving it. You've been sharking. Everybody,

question number four of 20. Where was the

Fresh Prince of Bel Air born and raised? Was

he born and raised in Beverly Hills, Chicago, Pittsburgh,

or Philadelphia? Oh, it's a quick thumbs

over there. I mean, you could say partially raised in another

town, but it was Philadelphia.

I love the two you pick. Pittsburgh. That's great. That's a whole nother. Philadelphia

would be specific. Yeah.

Paul and Abby gonna drop a little bit. Yanza might be

climbing. Stop calling me Yanza. That's. That's against my brand.

Sorry. Can you still change it? Is it too late to change it? I don't

know. You could just call me.

All right, here we go. Question five. Our last

one of the first round won't affect the orbs anymore. The orbs

are locked. What ties together Philadelphia,

New York, baked and blueberry? Remember I said

something would tie those together? Is it places with baseball

teams, Mafia nicknames, streets and

Monopoly? Or types of cheesecakes? What

ties together Philadelphia, New York, baked or blueberry?

I always picked the little dog. What was your go to

Monopoly piece? I was a hat guy. I like the top hat. All right, all

right. In the car, I was a car guy. Like the car and the hat.

The iron was fun. It didn't fool anybody.

Thimble is good. Thimble fans. Any simple fans in the house?

Single T. What are you. What are you in? Monopoly is

race car. Bodhi, you're the boat,

not the boat.

Let's see what happens here. Yinza dropping a little bit,

but Derek, Magic Mike, and Lindsay are holding for the money.

Magic Mike the fastest.

We're gonna keep it going. General knowledge round.

We just have four choices again. Answer fast

to get more points. Let's see what

happens.

Oh, yeah. You're waiting for me. Let's see. Here we go. Hit the button.

Which of these sports uses the terms par,

birdie, and bogey? Is it pool,

billiards, golf, or baseball? These are

our general. General knowledge. General knowledge, yeah.

Fourteen of you play golf. One of you play billiards differently.

Is our billiard player in the top 10? Not today. So we'll never

know who plays billiards with. Are those.

Edit that out. Are those orbs? Pool balls. They're pool balls. Nice.

Hey, they're not all going to be great sometimes. Have you

heard mine? Here we go. Question seven. We got 13.

14 questions remaining here.

14,000 points. Which legendary British

king sat with his knights at a round table so that all might be

of equal status? King Arthur, author

or. Wait a second, wait.

Oh, that was close. King and king.

Art Link letter. If. If you would have

switched that, you would have got every one of us.

That's close. It was. Yeah. Is it? It

could have been a writer. No, what I'm saying is that. That. That was dirty.

That was dirty. I warned. But I warned you. I will try to trick you.

You try to go too fast sometimes you got to slow down the speed up.

But look at that. Oh,

he ends up Paul the fastest on that one. Don't. Don't count Paul out.

He's coming back off the board like a storing freight train.

Like a rolling stone. Like what I do.

Which animated series features both David Bowie and Alan

Rickman in an episode called Love is a Many

Splintered Thing? Is it Archer? Rick and Morty

Futurama the Simpsons. I saw some

thumbs up on that. People like that must like this show.

Everyone has voted and we split between R

and Morty and the Simpsons. The Simpsons is

correct.

We have a little bit of a shake up here maybe. Let's see. Yeah, we

got a couple different ones there. Magic Mike and Sass holding strong, but

the Reverend Funk and Lindsay moving on up to fourth and fifth place.

Let's go answer fast to get more points

as they enter their 35th season. In what year did the first

season of Dancing with The Star air? 1991,

1993, 2005 or 2009? Now

we're talking about Dancing with the Stars. Are we talking about Strictly Come Dancing? Because

there was two differences when it came to here. Oh, okay. It's

2008 is correct. How many

math are you Math. And let's see.

This could be a little bit of a shake up. Not for our top three,

man. Our top three are holding. This is what we call the main

event. This is the main event. We have. We have like, such.

Such competitors, Such amazing

competitors competing. See, I'm a wrestler. I'm not a commentator, so.

But you're doing all right. All right. Thanks, man. Yeah, Derek the fastest, he said,

really setting the pace here, saying I'm in first place and I'm the

fastest. You if you want that money, you got to come get it.

Question 10, let's see what happens.

What was invented by Hubert cecil booth in

1901? Was it the telephone booth,

the vacuum cleaner, the elevator, or

the toaster? Oh, that's tough. You think it would be

telephone booth. It's like, that's like the inventor of the toilet being named John

or whatever. That's it. Oh, it is the vacuum cleaner.

The vacuum cleaner.

And she's got to change some stuff. I got Derek, Lindsay, Paul,

Abby. Getting it correct. And Lindsey jumps

up into fourth. Derek, Magic Mike, and Sass holding on just

by 800 points there.

800 points out of the money. Getting close. We're halfway now.

11 questions out of 20 are gone.

In which country were fireworks invented?

Were they in China, India, Japan or

Mexico? Wow. Everybody knows their fireworks. I'm a little

nervous sitting on the stage in front of the 13 people that immediately

answered China. It was like two seconds.

It was two seconds on that one

and everybody got it right. Everybody likes blowing stuff up in America.

Americans might not have invented them, but we perfected them.

Yeah, Here we go.

Question 12 of 20.

In 1982, Steven Spielberg released what

supernatural thriller E.T. the Extraterrestrial

Batteries not included. Gremlins or

Poltergeist.

Supernatural thrill thriller was

poltergeist. Yeah. E.T. wasn't

that scary, was it? I picked Gremlins, so

I didn't know he did Poltergeist. Yeah. Wow.

That's a separator question. What can't he do? Look at

this. Yeah. Stephen, do the

dishes. He's cl. Look at this.

Derek and Magic Mike within 150, 160 points.

Paul. Paul the fastest on that one. Paul knows his

poltergeist. We got. We got a new. We got a new third place.

Let's see what happens. Question 13 of 20.

The Large Hadron. Large Hadron

Collider, say it for me. Is located on the border between which

of these two countries? I love borders. Is it Switzerland and Austria?

France and Switzerland. Germany and Switzerland.

France and Belgium. Hadron.

Collider. Hadron.

The minute they. The minute they turned that thing on, everything went. That's right.

And nine of you said Switzerland and Austria. That

is incorrect. It is France and Switzerland.

This is a real shake up question now. The final round is going to be

a little bit harder than the other ones because I'm giving away money. Makes sense.

But Derek and Mars say we're coming for the money.

Mars jumping up a couple places. Tweedo. It's the first

time I seen Tweedo. On the board. I think I just wanted to point out

that this is a leather chair, and all month I've been

just shifting a little bit in case there's any sounds.

Flatulence. Yeah. That is not.

Well, we have another name. 5 Bonus question. This is really

for everybody to see who's in the audience tonight. I'm gonna ask

you to name your favorite types of cookies, and

you can answer as many times you want. Even Yinza should be putting in some

answers. I'm not going to put mine in because I want to pick. I want

to pick my favorite. Oh, and pick your favorite one. Yeah. Yeah. So I want

to see if anybody here knows what my favorite cookie is. Oh, do you have

a. You have one cookie in mind right now? Yeah.

Sea monster flavor. Oh, But. But somebody more

than one person. Look how big that is. A couple people put sea

monster cookies. Unless somebody put it five. Five times.

Oatmeal raisin. Yeah. Which cookie do you like

on a pizza? Yeah. What's your favorite cookie on a pizza? That's a tie in

a callback from episode three that happened last week. So not a lot of people

might be familiar with that call.

You got lemon, ladyfingers, Samoas in a jar.

But. But

a typo. It was meant to be butter, but it came out butt cookies.

All right, who wrote snickerdoodle? Oh,

boom. Who has not won a shirt yet. You have too many shirts.

We got two shirts for the winners of see me after. We got a nice

duty shirt for you. I guess she could. She could. She could trade in her

two for, like, a thing or what I got. How about. I'll take care. I'll

give you a pduti hat. There we go. There we go. Or

you could have just all the different colors. You could have a ra. Or you

trade in the shirt to get a hat. That would cost me less money.

We have a final round. Who's going to be on top

overall? We have eight questions remaining.

Eight or seven? Seven questions

remaining. Seven questions remaining. I'm just trying to build

the suspense. Here we go. Are you

ready? Question 14 of

20.

Answer fast to get more points. Which color

ring surrounds the gold center in an archery target?

Is it black, red, white, or blue?

You ever play archer? I only ax throw, so I don't. Yeah, I'm not.

And I always go for the ones up in the corner because they're worth the

most. Get away from the win. Just always. Bullseye. Bullseye. Bullseye.

Red is correct. Eleven archers in the audience tonight.

Hope nobody's Carrying Derek.

We could have a shake up here, Magic.

Oh, no. We got 784

points separating first and second place. Paul was

in there by about 1000 points. So first,

second, third. Magic Mike and Paul tied at the fastest. So the

battle's on. Let's go to question 15

of 26 questions remaining

fast to get more points. On which river does the city of

Vienna stand? Is it the Danube,

the Rhone, the Rhine, or Weezer? Is that

Weaser? Wesser? Weaser, the band.

10 of you picked the Rhine, but it is the

Danube. Interesting.

Vienna fingers. That's another very delicious. Who has. Who wrote

Vienna fingers down for their cookies? Nobody did. That was gonna be a

hundred dollar bonus. Sorry.

Oh, we got Derek, Magic Mike and Paul holding down the leaderboard.

Five questions remaining. Five thousand points. Only a

thousand points from first to third. It could be anybody's game

taken home that hundred dollars. Which rock and roll

star is commemorated by a bronze statue in Lubbock,

Texas? Is it Elvis Presley, Richie Valens, Buddy

Holly or Bill Haley?

People are answering so fast though. We

have Buddy Holly as the

audible size from the audience on that one. That was a

Weezer callback. That is.

Did I. Did I plan that? Probably not.

Let's see. Derek, the fastest holding court at first place there.

Really starting to pull ahead. 4, 000 points

remaining. Let's see.

How does it end? Which movie star became

the U. S. Ambassador to Ghana?

Ginger Rogers, Lana Turner, Betty

Grable, Shirley Temple. Did we go too

hard on this last round? And so, so many audible size. I'm like, but I'm

giving away money. You got to earn it. But look at everybody.

12. I did not expect 12 of you to get Shirley Temple.

That's pretty impressive. You guys know your U.S. ambassadors? It's my

favorite beverage. U.S. ambassador.

Yeah. Little bit of whiskey. Splash

it. Sass moving up in the fourth challenge and Paul for third place.

Just 1200 points. Got 3000 points

remaining. It's anybody's game. All

right, one. You need that bonus point. Now.

If November 1st is on a Monday, what day

will December 1st fall on? I love these math questions sneaking

in there. Thursday, Saturday, Tuesday, Wednesday.

If November 1st is a Monday,

what day will December 1st fall on? You

do that like 30 days. Up, up. How about.

How about that Wednesday show on Netflix? Oh, that was pretty. You watch the season?

I think there's two family. Yeah. The answer is

Wednesday is correct. See, I should have went with

five of you got it right. We got a lot of separator questions on this

round. This is Big. Oh. Oh, no. Derek and Magic Mike

falling out. Maybe they're missing it. We'll see. We'll see. Does it change

anything, Paul? Paul has been clawing his way

to the top. Paul moving into second place, passing

Magic Mike. These. These questions are deciding

money. Yes. These are serious insane. That was a. How

many dollar swing was that? 25 or something like that? That was. Yeah,

double it. Paul just doubled his money. Geez. Paul had 25. Right now

he's sitting at 50. If the winner was any one of those

three, pick a gold ball. Paul May just won a hundred dollars.

Two questions remaining.

Two thousand points. Too close to call. Too

close for comfort. Too legit to quit.

Please, hammer, don't hurt him. Which flower is also the title

of a song in the Sound of Music? Snowdrop,

Edelweiss, Tulip Rose.

How fast are people voting? Well, I mean, the Sound of Music is one of

the greatest movies.

I'm not German. I think there was an Austrian.

Anyway, they're teasing us

with the reveals now, too. Magic Mike.

Magic Mike holding place. It all comes down to this.

Look at this. But sass is only

60 points out of third place.

It's close. It is a close one with one

quote. What if all first, second, and third miss? Because

I probably came up with a banger on this one. I don't even

remember. That's the beauty of hosting a show. I don't remember what I wrote.

I could actually play along.

What are the names of Cinderella's two ugly stepsisters?

Is it Angelica and Amelia? Drusilla and

Anastasia? Camellia and

Camilla. And Camellia. Cruella and Donella. This,

too. How many Cinderella fans

are in the house? I got 1, 2, 3, 4.

Will it make a difference in the outcome? Somebody hasn't voted.

They're. They're like, forget it. I don't know what. I'm not answering.

All the votes are in. Drusilla and

Anastasia is correct. Eight of you got

it correct. How fast were you?

Derek and Magic Mike both missed it. Our first and third place players.

Derek. Oh. Sass moves up

into. Wow. Third place. Derek

is our winner. Where is Derek at? Derek,

go over to the VIP section. You just won yourself 100

bucks and now you have a chance to double

it. All right, what we need you to do, stand behind.

Yinza's gonna mix up all the balls. All right, Paul, if you could

lift that a little bit. Like that? Yes. Excellent.

Get a nice mix. Save me some money.

Now, how this is going to work? Derek, can you see any of the

balls Derek's going to reach in. He's got

five seconds. The audience can't help him. You have

five seconds to move around the balls and pick one out. If you

pick out a yellow ball, you will double yours,

Paul's and Sass's prize money

tonight. Derek,

choose your ball.

And in the double, Derek has doubled everybody's money.

Derek is going home with $200. Paul is going home with

$100. Sass is going home with

$50.
